I was curious to read this description of an "affordable" necklace on
Style.com, the online home of Vogue and W:
"In this bling-obsessed era, you could be forgiven for thinking that
chic but affordable jewelry doesn't exist, but Fallon, Dana Lorenz's
diffusion line, proves that sometimes less can be more. The cinnabar
and brass chain necklace shown here doubles as a belt, though at these
prices, you shouldn't have to do much tightening in that department."
Then we get the price: $295.
The rich truly aren't like the rest of us. I might drop that kind of
cash on something timeless, like a cultured pearl necklace or a
diamond solitaire pendant, but a trendy, "affordable" piece? I don't
think so.
What say you?
