Reduce Fine Lines and Sun Damage

Fri Oct 27 09:33:04 EDT 2006
At 37, I guess I had to expect it. While talking about something
serious the other day, my significant other kept staring off
distractedly. Since he's usually a fairly good listener, unless, say,
Ultimate Fighting is on, I was annoyed. "What?!?" I demanded. "What
are you looking at?" To my horror, he said, "Your crow's feet." What
the $*%U? I don't have CROW's FEET!
Now I know I have my drawbacks: I'm short, and I could stand to lose a
few pounds. But I've always been complimented on my skin and been
carded buying wine. So the appearance of wrinkles were definitely a
shock. But I checked, and, yes, they're there.

Not wanting to give up so easily, and being a beauty product junkie, I
snagged Loreal's ReFinish Micro-Dermabrasion Kit the next time I went
out. It looked the most promising among the rest of the expensive
treatments on the shelf. (I'm a sucker for good packaging.)

Here's how it works: There are two parts, and two tubes of goop. Part
one: Wash your face, leave it damp. Then, rub the Gentle Micro-
Dermabrasion Exfoliator over your face for one to two minutes,
avoiding the eyes. Rinse. Part Two: Apply the Post-treatment
Protective Moisturizer (your skin will be sun-sensitive after
exfoliation).

Well it's day one. This morning, I used Loreal's magic wrinkle eraser
for the first time. I rubbed and scrubbed the aluminum oxide crystals
into my skin. They were fine, and I could feel them working: It hurt!
(Just a teeny tiny bit). It irritated me is a better description I
guess. As I sit here, my skin is pink and tingly. My sun spots and
crow's feet are still here, but I do feel a slight tightening and my
complexion is brighter. As for long-term effects, we'll see what
happens over the next several weeks.

I'll keep you posted, but I'm not supposted to see results on the
wrinkles, fine lines and surface sun damage for a while. And you can
only use Loreal's ReFinish Micro-Dermabrasion Kit 2-3 times a week, so
I'll have just have to wait.
