By now, I'm sure all you fashionistas have heard of the Meryl Streep
movie, The Devil Wears Prada, based on Lauren Weisberger's book of the
same name. I had a chance to catch it last weekend with five of my
friends, and we adored it.
I'm not saying it's on a par with To Kill a Mockingbird or anything,
but it was entertaining, smart and had all the elements of a good
chick flick, including gorgeous clothes, a hot boyfriend, loyal
friends, a makeover, diet talk ("I'm just one stomach flu away from my
goal weight.") and redemption.
Anne Hathaway plays the naive and idealistic Andy Sachs, who scores
the job as assistant to beyond bitchy uber-editor Anna Wintour, oops,
Miranda Priestly. What follows is predictable but wicked fun.
1 hour, 46 minutes. PG-13.
My next foray to the cinemas? Who knows, but I want to see You, Me and
Dupree. Anyone seen it yet?
