Prom Jewelry

If you're in high school, chances are prom is all you can think about. If you're like I was, you probably sneak a look at prom magazines for hairstyle and dress options during geometry and English. Hey, I'm cool with it, just don't get caught!

While you're daydreaming about your gown, start thinking about about prom jewelry. Accessories can make or break an outfit and ensure that no one will look exactly like you. And unlike your prom dress (as much as you love it) jewelry is something you'll wear long after prom is over. So spend some time thinking about how you want your prom jewelry to look, and use a good portion of your budget to splurge a bit on, say, a classic piece such as a white pearl necklace or pearl studs. Don’t worry if your parents aren't millionaires, freshwater pearls are affordable, and you'll definitely have countless opportunities to wear them throughout your life.

Not a classic pearl kind of girl? No problem. Trendy jewelry can look super too. Just don’t overspend on costume pieces that won't be in style next year. It's not worth the investment.
