Designer Shoe Sale

Wed Jan 31 10:01:29 EST 2007

Neiman Marcus is having a fantastic sale--up to 40% off--on some of my
favorite designer bags and shoes, like the Burberrys pictured above.

If, like me, you can't get enough shoes, that's wonderful. But don't
justify and buy (well, they're not my size but they're on sale so...).
Make sure the shoe fits, literally, or your tootsies will scream in
protest.

Shoe myths from O Magazine:

Myth: Flip-flops are comfortable

Reality: When toes have to grip to keep the shoe on, it causes tiny
tears in the ligaments of the arch. Don't walk the dog or do anything
marathon-like in these puppies. Save them for the beach.

Myth: Long, pointy toes aren't good for your feet

Reality: Since the points are decorative--your feet don't reach that
far into the shoe--they're no worse than round toes. The spot to
beware the big squeeze is right below the toes, where your foot is
widest and bunions develop.

Myth: Shoes will stretch

Reality: Don't buy shoes that hurt! Even a professional stretching
probably won't turn an uncomfortable pair into walking-on-air.
