Ah, the reunion. A chance to see what your classmates have been up to
in the last decade or two or three and proudly show off your
accomplishments (that is, provided you've accomplished something).
Blog reader Kate wrote in for some style advice: I have to find
something to wear to my 30th hs reunion next weekend. I really don't
want to go too much and I got my hair cut on FRI and she over-layered
it so it looks stupid. Maybe I'll buy a hat.
My advice? Relax. Everyone else is going to be so worried about how
they look that they won't judge you too harshly. Unless, say, you've
gone totally bald (and you're a woman) or you've gained 300 lbs.
The best thing you can do is work with what you've got. Pretty smile?
Play it up with bright lipstick. Great body? Show it off! Long neck?
Enhance it with a pearl choker. Elegant hands and wrists? How about a
multi-strand pearl bracelet or diamond tennis bracelet to really
complement your bone structure? Even if you've gotten a little heavy,
you probably have great calves or smokin' cleavage. The point is, work
with what you've got. And don't feel self-conscious. Everyone else is
more concerned with how they look to focus on you.
