Fab Faux Jewelry?

Fri Nov 03 09:44:14 EST 2006
This month, InStyle magazine ran a fashion article about how faux
jewelry can be fab. Sure, faux can be cool, but if the real stuff
doesn't cost much more, why not splurge? Maybe it makes sense for CZs
(the pub pictures a sterling silver and marquise-cut CZ tennis
bracelet for $250. I guess the diamond version would be over the top),
but still, if I pay over two hundred bucks for jewels, I don't want
faux. And the article shows a $70 glass "pearl" necklace. Why not get
the real thing for about $70 more? The Chinese are producing
freshwater cultured pearls that rival the beauty of Japanese akoyas,
and the large quantities they're able to create mean the prices are
totally affordable. Who needs faux when you can have real? You can get
a gorgeous pearl strand for less than $200.
Even the mag's suggested earrings, drop stunners of faux diamonds and
jade, are $625. 625! Would you pay close to a grand for anything faux?
Yeah, me neither.

This gorgeous pearl choker is made with real pearls. Yes, real pearls,
and it costs just slightly over $100. Why go faux? Get it at http://www.moonriverpearls.com

P.S. On a totally separate note, I can't believe Reese Witherspoon and
Ryan Phillipe are separated. I thought they'd be the one Hollywood
couple that would make it. I guess I'll never learn.
