It seems silly to talk about fashion and style when thousands of our
fellow Americans don't even have the basics. But we can help. Here are
agencies that will distribute your contribution to those in need:
American Red Cross, provides shelter, food and counseling. http://www.redcross.org/
AmeriCares, provides relief shipments of bottled water, cleaning
supplies, hygiene products such as soap and shampoo and other basics. http://www.americares.org/
Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, provides
food and shelter for stray pets. Has a temporary shelter set up in
Gonzales, Louisiana, in an effort to save as many animals as possible. http://www.la-spca.org/
Project Backpack, collects donated backpacks (used and new) filled
with school supplies, books, toys, etc. (no food) to send to Katrina
victims. www.projectbackpack.net.
